Pac-man and Mega Man

When it was teased that Pac Man and Mega Man (terrible Mega Man 1 box art version) would be joining the Street Fighter X Tekken roster, it seemed like an announcement that couldn’t possibly be true.Capcom has confirmed two special guests coming to the PS3 and Vita versions of their upcoming fighting crossover, Street Fighter X Tekken. Exclusively on the Sony platform versions of the game, players will have access to Capcom legend Mega Man and Namco's perennial icon, Pac-Man, in the game's fighting roster.

If you're expecting the blue bomber in his classically known form, you're sorely mistaken. However, if you want to see him in his former glory (the box shot from Mega Man 1, only...fatter), then you are in for a treat, as that's the version that will be offered in the game. Pac-Man will be slightly more traditional in Street Fighter X Tekken, albeit riding on a giant Mokujin as he lays his foes to waste.

The Sounds play to a crowded Glass House

Check out photos from The Sounds show at The Glass House in Pomona, CA.
The other night The Sounds headlined at The Glass House in Pomona, CA. I've never really heard these guys before, but thought to myself what's the deal with this Swedish Indie band? How is they've been around for what a decade or so and have 4 albums under their belt? What…have I been living under a rock? Anyways, so I checked out some of their live videos on YouTube, that fans have put up and watched some of their performances on some of the late night talk shows. Anyways, I liked what I saw and decided to check out the show practically down the street from my house, in a famous little place next to Antique Row in Old Town Pomona called, "THE GLASS HOUSE."
The opening acts were The Limousines, Kids At The Bar, they DJ'd between bands and Funeral Party.
So…from the moment Kids At The Bar finished their DJ Set and the lights went out it was on. It was just pure energy from their first song, "It's So Easy", which went right into "Dance With The Devil" to later on playing "Something To Die For." With the crowd feeding of The Sounds energy and The Sounds feeding off of the insane crowd it was pure greatness. Maja Ivarsson to
Maja Ivarsson is truly one of the most beautiful women in Rock History as far as I'm concerned. Not just because of her beauty on the outside, but the way she presents herself on stage. Just imagine a young Debbie Harry (Blondie) and Janis Joplin, with that kind of sexy raspy voice. She's also the face for a new hair care promotion by Sebastian Professionals (
http://www.sebastianprofessional.com/en_US/whos_next/maja_ivarsson/index.jsp ).
I most definitely suggest checking these guys out live, the videos don't give this bands live show justice, especially when you're in the middle of the crowd. So find out where they are playing next and get your ASS over there. So until then check out the photos from The Sounds

The pregnant singer channels her inner-60's fashion icon in her new music video.Check out the latest music video for pop-sensation Beyonce's new single, "Countdown", off of her fourth studio album "4". The video showcases a pregnant Beyonce sporting countless 60's-inspired looks, ranging from simple black and white ensembles to colorful leotards to active wear. Even at a couple of months into her pregnancy, the singer still struts her stuff in sexy outfits and different hair styles while keeping up with the up-tempo track's sharp choreography. At the MTV Video Music Awards in August, Beyonce surprised the world with her pregnancy announcement before taking the stage to perform the song "Love On Top" off of "4". Prior to the release of "Countdown" and her pregnancy announcement, Beyonce made several television appearances, headlined a four-night, standing-room-only engagement at New York's Roseland Ballroom, and released the singles "Run The World (Girls)", "Best Thing I Never Had" and "1+1".

Blink-182 wows fans at the Honda Center

The rock group performed to an enthusiastic So. Cal. crowd for the first time in two years.Blink-182 made their first California stop as part of the Honda Civic Tour on October 1st in Anaheim, California to an ecstatic crowd of die-hard fans.
Out promoting their first album in eight years, Neighborhoods, Blink-182 teamed up with fellow rockers My Chemical Romance as part of the Honda Civic Tour, with the two bands co-headlining the tour’s tenth anniversary. With support from the duo Matt & Kim, the crowd at the Honda Center in Anaheim had plenty to be excited about, as it was the first time Blink-182 had performed in Southern California in two years.
Following both Matt & Kim and My Chemical Romance’s sets, Blink-182 stepped onto their giant stage, complete with moving video screens and backdrops that resembled their Neighborhoods album cover. The crowd was uproarious as they emerged onto the stage to open their set with their 2003 hit “Feeling This”. They followed up with their latest hit single “Up All Night”, 2001’s “The Rock Show” and 1999’s “What’s My Age Again?”. Between songs, singers Mark Hoppus and Tom Delonge would often engage with the audience and share jokes between the two of them and drummer Travis Barker, whose son joined him on stage for the duration of the concert.
With a catalog as expansive and memorable as Blink-182’s, choosing songs from the past and present must be no easy task for the group, who successfully managed to fit in several cuts from their new album into their show. They performed past favorites such as “Down”, “I Miss You”, “Stay Together for the Kids”, “Dumpweed”, “Always”, and “Violence” before performing their second single off of Neighborhoods titled “After Midnight”. “First Date”, “F*** a Dog”, “Heart's All Gone”, “Happy Holidays, You Bastard”, “Man Overboard” and “Ghost on the Dancefloor” had the crowd going wild before they brought out one of their biggest hits, “All The Small Things”, followed by the ever-crass “When You F***ed Grandpa” and “Josie” to close out their main set.
After leaving the fans cheering for more, drummer Travis Barker performed a visually-stunning drum solo that had the drummer on a raised-platform that extended out into the audience. Following Barker’s solo, the band reunited one more time to perform the songs “Carousel”, “Dammit”, and “Family Reunion”. The band departed from the stage amidst smoke-machines, confetti and a stadium-wide standing ovasion.
Blink-182 continues to remain one of the most entertaining bands to see in a live show. The group, nearing 20 years into their successful career, has found a great balance between the adolescent humor they’re known for and as adults and family-men. The group introduced the crowd to several new songs from Neighborhoods while their 2003 self-titled LP proved to be a favorite for the band, as many of their past songs performed that night came from that album. Their overall stage production also continues to get better and better, with the group this time incorporating video and laser-effects into every song.
Overall, Blink-182’s show is extremely entertaining and with dates still upcoming (they will headline at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California on October 8th), it is definitely one concert Blink-182 fans will not want to miss.

Drive breathes dangerously-fresh air into the car-film genre

Ryan Gosling headlines the stylistic independent film based entirely in Los Angeles. In Ryan Gosling’s new film Drive, the 30-year-old actor takes audiences on a ride thru the streets of Los Angeles as a stunt driver whose heart ends up sending the actor’s character on a dangerous detour.
Gosling (Crazy Stupid Love, The Ides of March) plays a Driver, who in addition to working as a stunt driver in films, works at a car garage owned by a man named Shannon (played by Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston) and as a getaway driver. The film opens with The Driver helping two burglars escape the police after committing a robbery, skillfully avoiding the cops thru various Los Angeles streets and neighborhoods before losing them completely at a crowded Staples Center parking lot. New to his Los Angeles apartment complex, The Driver befriends his neighbor Irene (played by An Education’s Carey Mulligan) and her son Benicio after they encounter car trouble at a grocery store.
In addition to helping Irene out with her car and providing The Driver with a place to work, Shannon enlists The Driver in his latest business venture as the driver for his NASCAR vehicle, of which is funded by a mobster named Bernie (played by Albert Brooks). Bernie is also in business with fellow mobster named Nino (played by Sons of Anarchy’s Ron Perlman), who is displeased with the NASCAR venture because of its high cost and risk factor with Shannon, notorious for having bad luck, attached to it.
The Driver and Irene begin to become romantically closer when her husband named Standard (played by Oscar Isaac) is released from prison. After sharing some tension upon meeting at their apartment building, The Driver finds Standard beat-up and bloody with his son looking scared just feet away. Standard informs The Driver that he owes money to a man named Cook for protecting him while he was in prison and that Cook would come after Irene and Benicio if his debt was not paid. The Driver agrees to help Standard as his getaway driver, but things go incredibly and fatally wrong when Standard is killed and The Driver becomes the target. From this point on, The Driver must do whatever it takes to not only protect himself from harm, but also Irene and Benicio.
Drive is not the standard-blockbuster-action film it was initially developed to be due to a strong collaborative effort between Ryan Gosling and Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn, who took the material and made a movie that was much more art-house and stylistic than one would expect. The film’s cinematography was incredible and played a major role in the film’s overall mood and direction. Adding to the film’s more artsy feel was the soundtrack, infused with 80’s-inspired electronic music that balanced well with the film’s dark tone. Additionally, the film’s fight scenes are reminiscent of Quentin Tarantino-style gore and exaggerated effects.
Ryan Gosling proves yet again that he is a leading man who can slip into just about any well-dressed character that is presented to him and deliver an amazing performance that you can’t take your eyes off of. The supporting cast, that also includes Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks, embody their roles well opposite Gosling’s character. Los Angeles is a character in itself throughout the movie, as it was shot entirely on location throughout the city. Overall, Drive is a uniquely-crafted movie that should not be missed.
